Welcome to our Hire department, one of the most extensive costume selections out of London. This collection has been lovingly put together over the last 30 years from various sources. We have over 3000 quality costumes for children and adults available and can adapt costumes to meet your requirements whether this is a Game of Thrones Warrior Queen or an original 1930's outfit we are the Costumiers of choice for people in Cambridge. We have a large selection of historical costumes for Children especially suited for School trips and Historical days including Victorian, Evacuee and Tudor. We are able to advise on suitable costumes for local Historical days including Kentwell Hall and Wimpole,Tudor and Historical days.
Modern World,1920's, 1930's, 1940's,1950's,1960's, 1970's,1980's,1990's
Fantasy and Fiction
Nursery Rhymes, Book Characters, Cosplay, Comic and Licensed Characters, Superheroes, Films and TV characters. These include Mad Hatter and Wonderland Characters, V for Vendetta, Harley Quinn, Captain America and Willy Wonka.
Fun and Themed
Animals, Circus, Clowns, Pirates, Music and Popstar heroes, School characters, Showgirl and Parade, Pre historic, Wild West, Bandits, Can Can dancers & Show girls, 4th July and Oktoberfest Outfits
Military
We have a selection of uniforms to Hire including original WWI and WWII items. Most hires include jacket, trousers, shirt and hat. These can come with optional extra's such as gaiters and boots.
Some of our costumes are original vintage outfits, others are handmade in house or from specialist suppliers. We also have previous BBC and Film costume stock.
We have a fantastic selection of accessories to help compliment your outfit including, Shoes and Boots, Jewellery, Head dresses, Ruffles and Cravats, Hats. Many of these items are one off pieces, reassuring if you want to look different.
Our standard hire terms are usually 5 days including pick up and drop off or 7 days for a Bank holiday weekend. We are able to offer extended hire periods for special occasions, school plays and nativities depending on availability.
We are able to accommodate special and group hires and welcome enquiries from Theatre companies and Drama groups.
At the time of hire you will be required to agree to our Hire Terms and Conditions of which you will be given a copy. A deposit will also be required before collection. The deposit on standard hire items is twice the hire cost. Please note vintage or one off items may be higher depending on value. This can be taken by Credit or Debit Card. Cheques and cash are not accepted.
Please note each costume is cleaned and pressed between hires.
We kindly request that if you would like to hire a costume that you arrive before 5pm weekdays and 3pm Saturday to enable you to choose and try on outfits and complete the hire process before closing.
Booking A Hire Outfit
A booking will only be treated as confirmed once the hire from has been signed by the Hirer and both copies are held by hirer and Wardrobe.
If a Hirer cancels the booking/hire after the ‘Holding Period’, a cancellation fee will apply. Only upto 48 hours prior to contract start date, after this time there will be no refund.
However if the hirer has removed the costumes from the premises and cancellation of event has happened after then no refund will be offered as the service has been completed by Wardrobe themselves.
Cancellation incurs a charge of £10.00 per outfit.
(this includes consultation/service fee and Tax on service)
The balance of the payment will be refunded to the customer’s account.
